Description: On the 10th of September, people all around the world got on their bikes to raise awareness of suicide and suicide prevention. The Break the Stigma for Families team cycled in Drenthe to raise awareness.
Lakefront Trail Chicago

Description: Supported by The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, a Break the Stigma for Families group cycled along Chicago's famed Lakefront Trail. The trail takes bikers right alongside the beautiful Lake Michigan.
Break the Stigma for Families Chicago

Description: Break the Stigma for Families Chicago was scheduled to coincide with the start of the 66th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), an international congress that took place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Several cycling events were organised to raise awareness.
UCI Para-cycling Road World Championship

Description: The UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships are the world championships for road cycling where athletes with a physical disability compete, organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). We were given the opportunity to meet the Mexican Team and hold a public lecture about Break the Stigma for Families at the event (see last picture).

Description: GGZ Drenthe organised the FACTIVAL, a festival where patients, families, and mental health professionals came together to raise awareness for mental health problems. The Fact Conference addressed the following themes: destigmatisation, inclusion and recovery.
World Bicycle Day (UN)

Description: We celebrated World Bicycle Day at the Department of Family Psychiatry in Beilen. The event was organised by Iedereen op Fietse.
Why Celebrate the Bicycle? The bicycle can serve as a tool for development and as a means not just of transportation but also of access to education, health care and sport; The synergy between the bicycle and the user fosters creativity and social engagement and gives the user an immediate awareness of the local environment;
Sport Debate with DAAT

Cycling Through Emmen

Description The mayor of Emmen, Cecil Prins-Aardema, Andrés Martin, relatives, families, and other supporters of the initiative cycled through Drenthe. Everyone wore a Break the Stigma for Families T-shirt to show their support and raise awareness.
Launching Break the Stigma for Families
